200 some year old yellow birch tree shot using hoya ir filter on nikkor 17-35mm.
from what I've heard the island used to be covered in these. there are still some on the island, this one sits alone along side the anderson point trail.
taken on stockton island, lake superior.

How beautiful isn't that! So nice colours :dance:

And btw, I wonder how that filter works? I mean - how can trees become red for example. And in others pictures the trees goes white sometimes. In my opinion it is wierd how a leaf can become white when you filter colours out ... Light will be white when all the spectra are beeing present, or? So if you filter something out, how can it then be white :s

I just thinking around, cause I'm not very used in IR pictures :) If you don't know the answer maybe someone else knows?
